Introducing Thomas Cormen – developer’s rock star?

I first came across Thomas Cormen on Quora.  Developers silently (or vocally) revere Dr. Cormen.  Dr. Cormen actively participates on Quora and graciously answers many questions.  I had seen Cormen’s book, ‘Introduction to Algorithms’, on a developer’s desk. Developers swear by this book.  However, for beginners, his other book, ‘Algorithms Unlocked’ was recommended.  Take a look at my visualizations of Dr. Cormen’s books.  As an aside, another book which is very popular is Gayle Laakmann McDowell’s ‘Cracking the coding interview’.

Caustic note

The current focus on coding/development as a means of testing is misguided (this does not refer to developer TDD which is good).  However, it is a good idea for testers to be familiar with both a scripting language as well as a low level language like C#/C++/Java (cf. Lessons Learned)
